Do you think, a 4x2 rear wheel drive suv would handle snow well?

ive been contemplating on buying either a 4x2 toyota 4 runner or a 4x2 jeep grand cherokee both rwd,as i can only afford a 2wd,do you think a rwd would be sufficient for snow,i appreciate your answers tnx
