Is there any products that can make hair look finer?

i have thick hair and i hate it. i usually have taper cuts as i like them they suit me and i cant and dont want to grow my hair long. but my hair always looks really thick compared to other lads who have the same haircut (im male btw). i have tried having it thinned out and it works..for about 2 days. then it thickens out again and by the third day im back to having horrible thick unmanageable hair. i cant afford to have this done every 3 days. i heard about paul mitchell super skinny shampoo but i dont know if it will make it finer..could this work? does anyone know any other products that mite work by like wella or john frieda or owt? thanks if ya can help.
