Is there a difference in the way a screenwriter would write and a novelist?

Screenplays and novels have different formats. Screenplays, in general, must be very, very structured by hollywood standards. Hollywood's standards make screenplays very difficult to learn how to write and very difficult to write correctly. Novels, on the other hand, have many different ways and much more time for a writer to include all the writer wants in a story.
