Please help me figure this one out!?

They are all metalloids. They would not all be similar to carbon as they are not in the same column. They are not very good conductors, but they are not true insulators either. They do not fall in groups 3-12 so they are not transition metals. They fall in the little "staircase" that begins with group 13 and goes down to the right. The metalloids.
