What kind of birth control do you recommend?

You can have the Depo shot...(3x/yr) but it isn't recommended for long-term use as it causes bone loss... There is the Nuva-Ring, which is inserted monthly into the l cavity... but can slip out during or a bowel movement (nice, huh? lol)... there's also the patch, but I don't know much about how well they stay on or how often they have to be applied... There's also the option of having a tubal ligation (want anymore kids?)... and there's also the option of your partner having a vasectomy. There are a lot of alternatives to pills and they all have risks to consider. Any type of birth control that contains hormones is going to be more risky for you if you are heavy or smoke b/c the combination ups your chances of heart attack and/or stroke by up to 4x. SAFEST option is tubal ligation or vasectomy if you are certain you are done having children...
