Will this make my hair softer and not as frizzy?

i dampened my hair and put a hydrating and nofrizz conditioner in my hair and put it up, if i keep it in and wash it out after maybe 20 minutes will it work the same as a deep conditioner and make my hair soft and not as frizzy?
