Why are Democrats and Obama accused of endangering the First Amendment when Republicans do THIS?

Some republicans on this forum have already clarified their position concerning this issue...most who answered believe--according to their own answers--that their 1st amendment rights can and should be trampled on for the sake of national security and to fight terrorism.
